Douglas is a big, sweet, loving baby! He bonds deeply to his family - human and doggy alike, but might hide behind you when meeting new people. He is working on regaining his confidence, which started to slip after he received extensive vetting for puppyhood damage to both his knees, resulting in major surgery with a long recovery. We think, in addition to being just a tad shy to start with, he unfortunately associated meeting all the new people he did, with the pain of his injury and surgerical recovery and the scariness of being away from his pack. He has now fully recovered, and enjoys romping and rough-housing with his mom and siblings!
Douglas, like most of our dogs, is crate and potty-trained, and generally very well-behaved in the house. He is smart, and eager to learn!
Douglas is a huge fluffy and gentle sweetheart. :) This sweet boy loves cuddles, and is the softest lap and arm filling teddy bear you’ll meet, with a super snuggly thick puppy coat <3
He is one of 9 pups rescued from living under a shed with their emaciated white Husky mommy. Since Mommy was roaming through vacant rural fields hunting for food, she and the pups were initially riddled with worms. They’ve been treated, have started their vetting and puppy vaccines, and are now looking for their forever homes, or an awesome foster home to give each pup a little more individual attention as they grow into their own little personalities and become ready for learning!
His adoption fee includes his puppy wellness vet check, fecal testing and antiparasitic treatments, microchip, all 3 puppy vaccine sets and rabies, and his neuter.
